Rabbit World- Yu-Gi-Oh Deck Profile

Welcome peoples,

Small introduction for those who don't know- My name is Josh Williams, I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh since the beginning and competitively for the past year and a half. I've recently had the notion to explain some of my ideas because of tech/card choices and plays that i tend to make, so i've decided to write a blog with this as my first entry. I am not the greatest player and i do make misplays, i currently have no tops or notable wins... but before you click that red X i encourage you to stay, read and hopefully enjoy my deck profile/analysis of rabbit world.

When i seen Rescue Rabbit for the first time i wanted desperately to find a way to abuse the fury little bastard. It was the first card in awhile that really caught my attention (art/effect) and if it was anything like its predecessor cat i knew it was going to be good. But there was a problem, the only competitive decks with rabbit was dinos. Dinos, with the support of laggia and dolka, was tier 1. First turn gold sarc for a rabbit, summon tour guide and plus a kajillion. But i hated the idea of that many dead draws and inconsistent hands in a deck. I tried every version of dinos there was and just could never find that comfortable sigh of relief i wanted with the insurance of wins and continuous enjoyment. In the end i had given up, figured id go back to dragged down dark worlds. See, for me dark worlds was one of the first really competitive decks i played in yugioh. Back when card destruction AND graceful charity were legal, it was pure beauty and i loved it. So i went back to dueling network and started playing a netdecked version of the build that topped ocg nats. It won some, it lost some.. but i hated the idea of taking another idea and calling it my own.so as i was trying to un-netdeck my version in the deck creator i happened to see the normals zure and renge. Sounded like a dumb idea at first but then my head started spitting out some combos, if there was one deck out there that could use rabbit just as well as dinos it was dark worlds. Dark worlds were good and with touguides they were great, so why not throw a couple gold sarcs and a rabbit or two. Roach and utopia were the only rank 4s i needed, gates of the underworld fixed my bad hand issues and leviair was stupid.

Monsters- 21

Spells- 14

Traps- 5

Total- 40

Extra- 8

1 Wind-Up Zenmaines

So.. how is this deck good?

I recently finished 34th at charlotte regionals finishing X-2-1 with it, so it is competitive. My only only losses were to plants and agents with a tie against chaos. I'm still a young player competitively making the occasional bad decisions and lost my plant match-up to a huge misplay. Agents have such a good matchup against rabbit and i respectively lost due to a better deck. As for the tie, i won game 1 and in game 2 he stalled out past time due to a spirit reaper. Overall i was happy with the performance of the deck.

Cards like card destruction, dark world dealings, allure of darkness and gates of the dark world give this deck so much gas its ridiculous. When you play dinos and open up with 2-3 vanillas you cry, its almost as bad a 3 tengus. When you play rabbit world and open up with 2-3 vanillas its nice to know your still in a position to win. The most common of plays was the first turn opponents thunder king hitting into my 2100 Renge. Then on my turn discarding Grapha to destroy TK and return Renge for a 2700 beater. Now having a discard for gates and a 4 star normal summon to re-special the Grapha back if it hit the grave again. As for zure, under gates 2100 is huge for a 4 star first or second turn. Every card in this deck has so much synergy with each other, the searching ability of snow and browws draw power gives you endless options and lines up all your combo pieces. Being able to return 2 Graphas to the field off of a rabbit play or opening the duel first turn with a 2200 roach and leviair on the field.

Techish Card Choices-

Extra gate- many people look at me crazy when i mention this card. Its a quickplay discard outlet (by effect) and a answer to Trishula, which is a dark worlds worst enemy. Set it first turn and it always seems to pay for itself by hitting a mst, heavy and occasional breaker or Ryko.

Mirror Force-why are you playing mirror force its to slow this format, its a one of and its just going to get typhooned when you set it. yes, yes and yes... i have a fear of people using monster reborn on my Grapha.. it happens EVERY game. so my one card answer is mirror force. Alongside from it being a good card in general, it has answered my Grapha problem time and time again. So for me its a must and its not coming out.

The 1 of Mystical space typhoon- I really don't like MST too much in this deck because of Grapha destruction and it always seems that i have heavy storm but the one of works for now and will be replaced by tour bus when i can get my hands on one upon release.

I want want to extend a quick thanks for supporting my blog by taking time out to read this article. I've continuously ran this deck since the release of rabbit and will continue to keep doing so, looking for a top at YCS Georgia. And with the release of Order of Chaos up and coming, i've only been looking for more ways to upgrade this deck even more so stayed tuned for updates. I accept any and all criticism and am very open to new ideas and concepts.

And as always, Stay classy!
